Ah it's the Masters. With College Football in our rearview mirror, and college basketball just about over, it's time for All About Sports to see how the first major of the year is shaping up.

The twenty-something players are making lots of noise this year. Phil Mickleson when he's at the top of his game is the best player in the world, and is coming off a win at the Shell Houston Open this week. Tiger Woods? I haven't heard from him in a year and a half. Players that play well in Augusta usually have a history of playing well there. So many golfers have had uneven results this year it was tough to pick a top 10 favorite list but here goes.

1) Phil Mickleson

Seriously, why wouldn't Mickelson be the odds on favorite? He's got a first and second this year. He's a three-time and the defending Masters Champion. If he gets wayward off the tee, Augusta is the kind of layout that won't penalize Mickelson as much as say the U.S. Open.

Oh yeah he can putt a little too.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 8 to 1

2) Dustin Johnson

Augusta loves long hitters, and Johnson is one of the longest on tour. I'm just waiting for Johnson to really break out. He doesn't really have a great Masters record, but I think he can contend.

Last year he had 2 top 10's in Majors.
His putting is better than you'd think ranking 37th on tour. He also has 3 top 10 Finishes this year.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 12 to 1

3) Luke Donald

Now this is where it get's tricky. Does the Masters favor a bomber more or a smooth putter more? Most players don't have the combination of both like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Donald is not the longest hitter, but he's very good around the greens.

He's had 2 top 10 finishes at the Masters and shorter hitters like Zach Johnson have won in Augusta in recent years.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 15 to 1

4) Bubba Watson

Watson leads the tour in driving distance, and with the open fairways that's a big advantage for Watson. He won earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Watson also nearly won last year's PGA Championship. The key for Watson will be his putter. Not a noted putter, he's going to need an especially good week on the greens.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 20 to 1

5) Tiger Woods

When was the last time Tiger Woods wasn't one of the top 3 favorites at the Masters? Woods keeps telling everyone his game his close and he's hitting it well, but the stats don't lie. He's not in top 50 in any significant golf statistic. Still he's hasn't finished outside the top 10 in Augusta since 2004. He'll contend, but I'd be surprised if he won.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 25 to 1

6) Nick Watney

Looking for an under the radar contender, it might be Nick Watney. He's been one of the hottest players on tour in 2011. 5 Top 10's including a World Golf Championship win less than a month ago against premier field. His worst finish this year is a T13.

He also has had pretty solid showings at Augusta. Watney has 3 straight top 20 finishes including 7th place finish last year.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 28 to 1

7) Martin Kaymer

Did you know that Martin Kaymer is the World's Number 1 ranked golfer and that he won golf's most recent major the PGA Championship in August of last year?

The German has finished in the top 10 in 4 of his last 5 majors, and won earlier this year on the European Tour. He doesn't have a great record at Augusta, so I can't make him one of the top favorites, but I also can’t ignore a player that's on top of the world rankings.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 30 to 1

8) Lee Westwood

Westwood holds the title of Best Player in the World never to win a major. He hasn't finished outside the top 20 in any of the last 5 majors that he's played in, and only once did he not finish in the top 3. Last year he ended up 2nd to Phil Mickelson at the Masters.

If Westwood could just finish off majors he'd have 2 or 3 of the big wins in his career. He is currently the World's 2nd ranked player.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 35 to 1

9) Ernie Els

How Els never managed to win a Masters is beyond me. Only Greg Norman had worse luck in Augusta than Els. At one point in his career he had 5 straight top 6 finishes in prestigious event.

He had somewhat of a comeback year on tour last year winning twice. This year he's been solid if not spectacular. Els doesn't have a top 10, but he hasn't missed a cut either. He's a bit of longshot, but it wouldn't shock me if he's somewhere on the leaderboard Sunday.

All About Sports Odds of Winning: 45 to 1

10) Anthony Kim

If you remember last year's major previews, the 10th spot is reserved for my darkhorse pick. Kim was injured during most of the 2nd half of last year, and his results have been decent but not great this year. He has just 1 top 10, but I think Kim's game is suited for Augusta.

In 2009 he had 11 birdies in his 2nd round, and last year finished 3rd at the Masters. Kim is streaky player, and if he gets hot you never know.
